Timetable

Otters Timetable Example 25-26 PDF.pdfDownload

This is an example of our timetable in Year 3 and 4. Our timetable is always subject to change, and there may be occasions when we work ‘off timetable’, for example during theme weeks.

PE

PE lessons will be on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Wednesdays, Year 4 will take their swimming lessons at 1:50 before returning to school. Children should come to school wearing their PE kit on those days and this must adhere to our uniform policy.

During the cooler months, please ensure that your child has warm layers as we still have outdoor PE at this time. Please also ensure that children always have wet weather gear and wellingtons for our Outdoor Play.

We are very happy to help the children to choose their reading books, and encourage them to read a wide range of texts and genres.

Homework

Homework will be set on a Thursday and is due in on the following Tuesday. The homework sheet will be posted on Seesaw and children can complete the work online or in their orange homework books. Please support your child in ensuring that the standard of presentation matches that which is encouraged in class. TTRockstars is set to a minimum of 10 minutes per week. Year 4s should aim to do double this as we approach the national Multiplication Timestables Check.

Children should be reading for a minimum of 10 minutes every day. Please speak to the class teacher if your child would like help finding their next book. We are happy for books to come home from school, however we would be very grateful if they could be returned promptly once they are finished. Reading records are a great way to communicate with the teacher – please sign in the ‘Parent’ box every time your child reads. Five boxes in a week = a Headteacher sticker!

Knowledge organisers

Knowledge organisers are used to support learning in foundation subjects and science. They cover what the children will be learning in that subject area and help with both learning and retaining new knowledge.

Our Big Question for history in the Summer term is ‘How has Crawley changed over time?’

Our Big Question for science in the first half of Summer Term is ‘What is electricity?’
